So I’ve been slightly out of commission for the past few days. I was hit by a stomach virus Wednesday night that managed to knock me out for several days. Just as my tummy was starting to recover I woke up on Saturday morning to a full blown cold. So, now it’s Monday, I’m still not back to work, I’ve had one day (yesterday) of eating almost “normal” amounts of food where I didn’t nap at all during the day, I still have no appetite, my nose is completely raw from blowing it non-stop, and I can’t eat any of Ben’s amazing chicken noodle soup because that happens to be the item that I was throwing up all Wednesday night and into the wee hours of Thursday morning.
We were lucky and already had a midwife appointment scheduled for Thursday so we managed to get there for the appointment and as suspected, Pumpkin was still as happy and healthy as could be. They also cleared me for “clinical” dehydration. Between my appointment 2 weeks prior and this one I managed to lose a total of 5 pounds. Not something to be proud of when you’re in your third trimester, but they said since Pumpkin is still doing so well that they’re not concerned. I’ve still got a few weeks to gain it all back once I actually get an appetite again.
For now I’m on the mend and will hopefully be done with this cold soon so I can get back to work, school, life, and preparations for our little one’s arrival. Here’s hoping the next Pumpkin Updates is a little more upbeat.
